PROGRAM #4
REBELS WITH GUITARS
Talented yet temperamental, Gene Vincent
had one of the best voices in rockabilly. A motorcycle crash
badly injured his left leg. His band, The Blue Caps,
was named for President Dwight Eisenhower’s golfing
cap, while his 1956 hit Be-Bop-A-Lula was reportedly
inspired by a stripper. (Publicity Photo) |
